TimeTag: view entries organized by day

We have just updated out TimeTag application with a few new features, the most noticeable of which is the view of your calendar entries by day. You can now finally see what you did each day and if applicable check if you properly filled in your timesheets for the whole day. Other changes include:

  • Most of the screenshots on the front page are now clickable so you can take a closer look and learn how TimeTag works.
  • The 'all projects' reports and detailed views now only list active projects (except when the daily view is selected). All inactive projects can be viewed by choosing 'inactive projects'.
  • A few small interface fixes.

Enjoy!

XAOP, one of the Plug and Play - IBBT contest winners!

Last week XAOP participated in the Plug and Play accelerator program of Flanders investment & Trade (FIT) and IBBT.

At Plug & Play promising technological start-ups can not only find a home in the heart of Silicon Valley, but also find the introductions, local market knowledge and support they need to get started up quickly. This means that the selected start-ups will be able to make use of financial and practical support for a period of three months.

After being selected based on an introduction white paper, we presented our pitch (a ten minute presentation) to an international jury. This was not without any preparations, for a few days we discussed and brainstormed on the key messages we wanted to get across.

With ten graphical slides we explained what XAOP has been doing for the last five years and shared our strategy/plans for 2011 and 2012.

After the 10 minute Q&A, Stijn and I left the building with mixed feelings. On the one hand we received recognition for our proven services and capabilities, but on the other hand we were not sure we convinced them XAOP is Silicon Valley material. But a week later, they proved us wrong in our doubts and selected us (together with nine other Belgian companies) for the three month stay in Silicon Valley, California, America’s start-up heaven!

I think XAOP’s technology focus on the dynamic programming language Ruby is a huge advantage in our domain. It allows us to be extremely flexible and build reliable software fast in an ever changing market.

We look forward to this journey and hopefully we can attend some local Ruby meet-ups in Silicon Valley :-) .
We will keep you updated on our experiences over sea!

2011 will hopefully be another fantastic year for XAOP, with this opportunity we’re definitely off to a good start!

Happy holidays and best wishes from the entire team!
