How does it work ?

SP2GD process

The web application migrates your documents from SharePoint to Google Docs.

Your documents are stored inside a SharePoint. (online BPOS version or internal)

When you connect to the web application, you need to configure the connection to your SharePoint environment and to Google Docs. You also need to define the sharing options (future security settings) and whether or not to convert your documents to the Google format.

The SP2GD web application will show you your SharePoint structure and will do a complete recognition of sites, lists and sub-sites alike.

All files are recognized and ready for copying. This makes it easy to move files individually or to migrate a whole library at once.

Your documents are stored in Google Docs in a dedicated folder structure. This folder structure is in line with the legacy SharePoint structure.

Assumptions

  • If you have disabled your SharePoint Webservices, you need to enable them via the SharePoint Central Administration.
  • We recommend using a generic Google Docs team account.
  • Define the security (sharing options in Google Docs) upfront.
  • You can use the conversion check box, to avoid Google docs conversion of content.
